PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES To further your professional development, consider attending NYAVA's volunteer management course, Principles & Practices. In this course, you will learn about: recruitment, screening, retention, recognition, and the volunteer-staff relationship providing all the essential elements necessary to create and/or enhance your volunteer program. CERTIFICATION IN VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATION (CCVA) The mission of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration is to serve as a catalyst to advance the capacity of communities to effectively engage volunteers by promoting and certifying excellence in the professional practice of volunteer administration.
