The Professional Development Committee coordinates professional development workshops throughout the year. Our topics are based on trends in the industry, and more importantly, input taken from participant evaluations: we do listen to you! Members may use up to two membership vouchers per year to bring a non-member colleague free of charge to qualifying workshops, e-mail [email protected] for more information.

You've Been Furloughed or Laid Off, Now What?

Tuesday, July 14th at 3:30pm

Julia Glum, Money magazine

These are difficult times and not all of our NYAVA members and friends have weathered this storm equally. For our colleagues facing challenges we thought we would focus on financial matters. Please join us for an informative and fun webinar presented by Julia Glum, writer and blogger for Money magazine. Julia will offer tips and strategies to help us stay on track, prioritize important immediate steps to take and suggest ways to minimize the damage to our savings as we get back on our feet. Q & A period will follow Julia's talk. Whether you are currently laid off, anticipating a future layoff or just trying to stay the course, this workshop will send you away with suggestions to make your money go further.

Free for members, partnership organizations/associations members, and for new or renewal of membership!

Remember that members can use a voucher to invite a colleague for free - e-mail [email protected]nyava.org for more information about vouchers.

As this is a members benefit, a fee of $10 for non-members is requested upon registration.
