Charity Connect succeeds in placing people in sustained volunteer positions by getting to know the interests, availability and goals of potential volunteers and the needs of organizations that utilize volunteers.  In this workshop, we will strategize ways to incorporate our volunteers' skills and cultivate their service. Our focus will be developing systems for the various stages of our volunteers' engagement including intake, placement, direction and promotion that are focused on promoting volunteer retention.
All outcomes will aid in volunteer engagement and retention. Our group will collaboratively develop ways to systematize how we work with volunteers throughout their time with us.   At the end of the workshop, attendees will have a self-inventory for volunteer placement, a corresponding evaluation for retention, a diverse perspective on how to handle various volunteer problems, ideas for how to promote self-direction in volunteers, and a reinforcement of the connection between volunteer tasks and mission impact.
About The Presenter:
Cristin's background in special events fundraising and as a public school teacher combined with her fulfilling volunteer positions led to her creation of Charity Connect, a nonprofit that facilitates volunteerism through personal connection. Charity Connect's strategic volunteering program engages individuals in customized service by building relationships with our clients (prospective volunteers) and organizations that utilize volunteers. In addition, Cristin consults with nonprofits regarding volunteer engagement and retention. As chair of her local Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Mastermind group, Cristin has created opportunities for nonprofits to strategically partner.   Learn more about Cristin and Charity Connect at
